About this Safety Manager role at Comfort Systems USA
The Safety Manager plans, directs, and implements organization safety program to ensure safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(The duties include but are not limited to the following)
· Oversee multiple projects in the Phoenix Tri-city area
· Engage with customers and general contractors during routing audits
· Point of contact for jobsite safety audits on all assigned projects
· Plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations
· Provides training certification in OSHA 10/30Hour for employees and ensure all certification are updated and the company is in compliance
- Timely and accurate data entry for a variety of safety reports and reporting systems
- Ensure all work-related incidents/accidents are added to the company database
- Update and maintain all safety related training documentation electronically
- Attend safety meetings as needed and document minutes
- Attend foremen meetings and update group on statistics
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and other rules and regulations pertaining to the construction industry
- Promote a proactive safety culture at all levels of the organization, with heavy focus on employee engagement towards the safety program
- Work closely with the VP of Operations at the company in highlighting successes and core focus areas, in order to continually develop the company safety program
- Jobsite inspections, hazard observations, near miss investigations and audits across all operational projects as deemed necessary
- Inspect jobsite tools for compliance
- Identify, develop and deliver safety training in areas such as: safety regulations, hazardous conditions, use of tools and equipment, etc.
- Ensure company continually remains compliant and informed of industry regulatory changes when it comes to bodies such as OSHA
- Create safety reports for the projects, analyze safety metrics and make recommendations for continuous improvement
- Ensure that proper first aid, emergency equipment, OSHA postings, fire extinguishers and SDS’s are onsite and properly displayed/maintained.
- Review all site-specific safety reports and other required written documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Observe and record all potential hazards, at risk behaviors and conditions, faulty materials or equipment, etc.
- Conduct investigations and complete reports for all incidents incurred on the worksite; conduct and document root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
- Conduct safety meetings to reinforce safe work practices, to provide awareness of OSHA and other Federal, State and local regulations to promote a strong safety culture. Must be able to speak well in front of a large audience.
