About this Safety Coordinator role at Picnic
In a nutshell
As a Fulfillment Safety Coordinator, you are part of Picnic's Fulfillment team. In this role, you are operationally responsible for safety within our Fulfillment Centers (FCs). Together with the international Safety Team and colleagues on the shop floor, you ensure a physically and mentally safe working environment.
You work closely with Fulfillment Center Leads, Process Leads, Building & Infrastructure, the L&D team, and many other internal and external stakeholders. You travel regularly between various Picnic Fulfillment locations in the Netherlands to keep one foot in operations.
Tricks of the trade

Analyzing operational safety: You combine quantitative data and qualitative observations to study the interaction between operational processes and teams.

Developing and implementing safety measures: You plan, introduce, and manage safety measures to ensure employees can do their work safely every day and return home safely.

Identifying and mitigating safety risks: After investigating potential safety risks in our operations, you design and implement safety improvements. You take the lead in this and collaborate with various teams to implement solutions directly or test them on-site first.

Visiting and evaluating FCs: You visit Fulfillment Centers across the Netherlands to review, evaluate, and, where necessary, improve safety plans.

Conducting Root Cause Analysis: You investigate incidents using Root Cause Analyses and implement preventive measures to prevent recurrence

Coaching and quality-assuring Root Cause Analyses: You support operational teams in conducting thorough Root Cause Analyses, ensuring high-quality investigations and embedding effective preventive measures to prevent recurrence.

Developing a strong safety culture: You train and guide operational teams to integrate safety with other KPIs and contribute to a strong safety culture.
We’re looking for

A completed Bachelor's degree

+3 years of work experience, preferably in an operational role

Fluent in English, big pre for Dutch

Strong communication skills and the ability to persuade others

Operationally strong with the ability to efficiently implement new ideas and initiatives

Business sense and an understanding of different operational KPIs

Independent worker with strong prioritization skills, backed by quantitative or qualitative data

Willingness to travel to various Fulfillment Centers across the Netherlands

Valid category B driver's license
