Job Description:

• Provide education: Help train nursing staff and other clinicians on trauma-related protocols, guidelines, and quality initiatives.
• Collaborates with trauma registrars to ensure the accuracy and validity of data entered into the trauma registry, which is used for analysis and reporting.
• Act as a liaison: Serve as a communication link between the trauma program and other hospital departments.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Ensure regulatory compliance: Monitor practices to ensure they align with the standards of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) for trauma center verification and other state or federal regulations.
• Facilitate multidisciplinary meetings: prepare and present cases at trauma peer review meetings and other committee meetings involving physicians, nurses and other care providers.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Proficiency with trauma registry software, electronic medical record systems and data analysis tools. [Required]
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills. [Required]
• The ability to collect, interpret, and report on complex clinical data to identify trends and improvement opportunities. [Required]

Education:

• Associate's of Nursing [Required]
• Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]

Work Experience:

• 1+ years acute care experience [Required]
• 1+ years emergency, trauma or critical care experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

• Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Trauma Nurse Course Certified (TNCC) [Preferred]
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) [Preferred]
• Certified Specialist in Trauma Registries (CSTR) [Preferred]
