Job Objective:

Responsible for the clinical operations, staff performance, regulatory compliance, and patient care quality across multiple assigned ambulatory or clinic-based practices. Ensures standardized workflows, safe and efficient care delivery, and alignment with organizational policies and clinical standards. Working collaboratively with physicians leaders, ambulatory/clinic leadership, professional development and nursing leadership, translates organizational priorities into consistent front line execution and serves as the primary escalation point for operational and clinical issues within assigned region. Focuses on execution, consistency, and performance optimization in assigned ambulatory practices.

Education:

Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master’s in Nursing

Licensure/Certification:

Required: California Registered (RN) license and Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred: Specialty nursing certification

Experience:

Required: Four (4) years of clinical RN experience in an ambulatory/clinic setting; two (2) years of nursing supervisor/manager experience

Preferred: Multi-site experience

Reports To: Director, Chief Administrative Officer, Service Line Administrator

Supervises: Clinical and non-clinical office practice staff

Ages of Patients (as assigned): Neonate/Infant, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric

Blood Borne Pathogens: High Potential

Ability to communicate and teach effectively by using dynamic approaches, Ability to delegate tasks effectively, optimize team productivity and ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives, Ability to lead by example, demonstrating integrity, transparency, and accountability in decision-making and actions, Competent in the Scope and Standards of Care for Nursing Professional Development, Contributes to Maintaining a Healthy Work Environment, Knowledge of evidence-based nursing practice, Knowledge of JCAHO, State DPH or other accreditation standards of care, Knowledge of the special needs of the patient population served, Possesses strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills, Strong knowledge and clinical skills in critical care nursing, Strong knowledge of healthcare and regulatory standards in order to meet training needs, Written and verbal communication skills

Essential Responsibilities

1. Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.

2. Ensures safe, evidence‑based patient care across multiple assigned ambulatory and/or clinic-based sites. 

3. Standardizes clinical workflows, staffing models, and patient flow processes.

4. Monitors daily clinic operations, scheduling effectiveness, wait times, and throughput.

5. Maintains continuous regulatory readiness (Joint Commission, DHS, state/federal standards).

6. Supports patient safety reporting and corrective action follow‑through.

7. Directly manages clinic managers, charge nurses, RNs and other staff as assigned. 

8. Leads hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance evaluation, and corrective action.

9. Ensures clinical competencies and documentation standards are met.

10. Promotes a healthy work environment and high employee engagement.

11. Monitors quality indicators, audits, and patient experience trends.

12. Ensures compliance with National Patient Safety Goals and infection prevention standards.

13. Participates in regulatory surveys and inspections.

14. Maintains accurate documentation and remediation plans.

15. Participates in budget planning and labor management for assigned region.

16. Monitors overtime, productivity, staffing utilization, and supply expenses.

17. Identifies operational inefficiencies and recommends cost‑containment actions.

18. Maintains supply par levels and oversees readiness checks.

19. Serves as key liaison between clinics, physicians, and operational leadership.

20. Communicates operational risks, staffing challenges, and performance gaps upward.

21. Supports change initiatives and system‑wide standardization efforts.

22. Embraces professional governance philosophy and demonstrates support through active participation and engagement.

23. Performs other duties as assigned.
