Registered Nurse - Interventional Radiology

FULL TIME, First Shift

Monday thru Friday 8a-4:30p in addition to a call rotation. This position will take approximately 6-7 call shifts per month. There is a 30-minute call back time requirement for the call shifts. 

Baptist Health Imaging, where compassionate care meets advanced imaging and treatment.  Our Imaging Department encompasses multiple services including Computed Tomography, Diagnostic X-Ray, Interventional Radiology, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Nuclear Medicine, PET/CT Imaging, and Ultrasound. We pride ourselves on our state-of-the-art equipment as well as accessibility and providing services throughout the community, including surrounding areas.  Our team works closely with other departments such as surgery and oncology to provide the best care for all patients.

Under general supervision, provides professional nursing services and patient care in a variety of settings. Exhibits initiative, be self-driven, possess problem solving skills, and coordinate care across the Radiation continuum. Follows established nursing process, including patient assessment, nursing diagnosis, 
planning, intervention and evaluation. Ensures adherence to hospital and department policies, and nursing procedures, standards, and practices. Utilizes high-level assessment skills to design and ensure multidisciplinary patient care to meet holistic needs, by incorporating evidence-based practice guidelines 
and regulatory standards. Actively evaluates opportunities to improve the patient's outcome and experience  

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provide patient-centered nursing care focusing on healing and wellness. 

  • Respect the dignity, uniqueness, and holistic needs of each patient (mind, body, spirit). 

  • Practice based on evidence, research, policies, procedures, and professional guidelines. 

  • Use critical thinking, creativity, and all phases of the nursing process in clinical decision-making. 

  • Promote nursing excellence through collaborative relationships with nursing and other healthcare disciplines. 

  • Serve as a model of compassion, empathy, and respect in the nursing profession. 

  • Provide direct patient care (>50% of time) through: 

    • Nursing rounds, assessments, and treatments. 

    • Facilitating admissions, transfers, and discharges. 

    • Patient and family-centered education. 

    • Care coordination and individualized treatment planning. 

 Requirements: 

  • Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing

  • In lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree, an Associate’s Degree in Nursing will be acceptable for initial hire with the understanding that the individual must be enrolled within 12 months in a Bachelors Degree program and must have achieved the degree within 5 year

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (within 30 days)

  • ACLS/PALS/NRP certification (as required by the department). 

  • Successful completion of dysrhythmia class (as required).
