The opportunity

We are looking for candidates for the position of R&D Scientist to perform research in the field of factory data mining and analysis, production process modeling, production efficiency optimization and product quality improvement. You will be part of the Hitachi Energy Research team to develop cutting edge data technologies and process optimization models.

   

How you’ll make an impact

1.You will analyze production data and equipment status information of the production lines and apply data mining technologies, including statistical analysis and machine learning, to extract key data features that affect production efficiency and quality.
2.You will develop production process optimization solutions by modeling production processes and applying data analysis, optimization algorithm design, and mathematical programming to increase production efficiency and production line capacity.
3.You will develop production process diagnosis models, identify potential quality issues, and create solutions to improve production quality through process parameter adjustment, production flow improvement, and product design-for-manufacturing enhancements.
4.You will collaborate with colleagues with expertise in HV products, materials, and multi-physics to drive production quality and efficiency optimization initiatives.

5.You will be responsible for ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

1. PhD (or Master’s degree with 3+ year’s research experience) majored in the fields of Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Data Science, Chemical Engineering, Control Science and Engineering, Intelligent Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering, or other related disciplines.

2.Strong competence in one or more of the following fields: data analysis, process optimization, condition monitoring, root cause analysis, AI/Machine Learning applications, etc.

3.Expertise in one or more of the following areas will be a plus: quality management system or methodologies for operational optimization of production lines, production quality improvement, manufacturing technologies and their applications, etc.   

4.Familiar with data analysis tools such as Python and Matlab. Proficient in mathematical programing algorithms, statistical analysis methods and industrial data processing technologies.

5.Excellent innovation capability and competence of application-oriented research.

6.Solid theoretical background with publications in renowned transactions /journals.

7.Self-motivated, high curiosity and ability to learn new technologies.

8.Fluent English in both speaking and writing.

9.Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

10.Be able to travel abroad, including short-term job rotation as required.
