The Chen Lab is looking for a Research Associate to support research activities involving nanomaterial synthesis and characterization, cell culture, molecular biology techniques, and mouse experiments.
Job Description
The Research Associate will support the successful development, management, implementation, and dissemination of research projects led by the Principal Investigator (PI), Professor Chen Peng. The successful candidate will conduct research in nanomedicine, focusing on the development of advanced therapeutic technologies for the treatment of metabolic disorders and cancers. The role involves leading and supporting research activities, including nanomaterial synthesis and characterization, cell culture, molecular biology techniques, and mouse experiments. The candidate is expected to contribute to scientific publications, collaborate with research team members, and drive research projects towards successful outcomes. Applicants should possess a strong publication record and demonstrated expertise in the relevant research areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct innovative and independent research in nanomedicine, focusing on the development of advanced therapeutic technologies for metabolic disorders and cancers.
- Take a leading role in the design, execution, analysis, and management of multidisciplinary research projects.
- Perform research activities involving nanomaterial synthesis and characterization, cell culture, molecular biology techniques, and mouse experiments.
- Analyse and interpret experimental data, troubleshoot technical challenges, and contribute to the advancement of research objectives.
- Develop and maintain research collaborations within NTU and with external academic and industry partners.
- Supervise and mentor undergraduate students and junior researchers involved in research projects.
- Contribute to the preparation of research proposals and grant applications.
- Prepare manuscripts and publish research findings in high-impact peer-reviewed journals.
- Present research findings at laboratory meetings, seminars, workshops, and international conferences.
- Support the dissemination and reporting of research outcomes and ensure the successful delivery of project milestones.
- Maintain accurate research records and comply with laboratory safety, ethical, and regulatory requirements.
Job Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
- A strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
- Experience in leading research projects.
- Proven high-level quantitative and qualitative research skills.
- Proven high-level and comprehensive research skills.
- A significant track record in attracting research grant funding.
- Extensive experience in leading the design and development of research programmes.
- Experience in the supervision of postgraduate and undergraduate students.
- Experience in teaching and/or supporting research laboratories.
- Experience in conducting mouse experiments.
- Expertise in nanomaterials synthesis and characterization.
- Training in cell culture, molecular biology techniques, and histological analyses.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary research environment.
- Demonstrated ability to publish research findings in high-impact peer-reviewed journals and present research outcomes at scientific seminars and conferences.
