School of Computer Science - Professor Li's Lab
Job description
● Tests and maintains new functionality for the ChatHealthAI platform, including model integration, backend components, and the user-facing interface.
● Conducts computational experiments on electronic health record datasets, including data preprocessing, model training, benchmarking, and evaluation of clinical language model outputs.
● Analyzes experimental results and helps prepare figures, tables, and written summaries for manuscripts, conference submissions, and grant reports.
Other qualifying skills
● Experience working with large language models, including fine-tuning, prompting, evaluation, or retrieval-augmented generation.
● Strong programming skills in Python with experience in deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
● Familiarity with clinical or health data, such as electronic health records, medical coding systems (ICD, ATC), or biomedical text.
● Well organized and able to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and collaborate with students and clinical collaborators.
Experience and Education
● Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Quantitative Life Sciences, Statistics, or a related field.
● At least 2 years of research experience in machine learning or artificial intelligence, including experience with deep learning and language models.
● Demonstrated experience analyzing large-scale health or biomedical datasets.
● Proficiency with Python, Git, and high-performance computing or GPU cluster environments.
