The purpose of this role is to improve wind farm and other renewable asset reliability by maximising plant availability and efficiency with optimised maintenance practices. The role provides engineering expertise, focusing on the mechanical side, to assist maintenance activities and resolve technical issues.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Health & Safety

Actively engage in ACCIONA’s Health & Safety practices, take personal responsibility for maintaining a safe and secure workplace, and support the people around you in upholding these standards.

 

Role Responsibilities

  • Provide expert engineering support to all operational assets, focusing on the mechanical side, such as drivetrains and structures.
  • Manage reliability engineering programs across all operational sites, incorporating key principles of condition-based and optimised maintenance.
  • Undertake Root Cause Analysis investigations on failed or faulting equipment.
  • Analyse plant performance and maintenance data to identify and address issues and maximize efficiency.
  • Liaise with ACCIONA Energia Global Engineering, equipment suppliers and OEMs to resolve engineering issues.
  • Ensure the use of the HSE and environmental policy through the Engineering team.
  • Review operational data for purposes of trend analysis, fault finding and continuous improvement.
  • Manage programs of retrofits, upgrades and asset changes at all operational sites.
  • Maintain an engineering document library for knowledge sharing within the operations group.
  • Support internal asset management functions in the development, implementation, and review of the asset management plan.
  • Work closely with members of the Operations team and across generation sites to uplift and deliver high quality and effective maintenance practices.
  • Comply with relevant OHS policies.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Must have completed a Bachelor degree or equivalent technical competence in mechanical engineering.
  • Relevant experience in a reliability engineering or related role, ideally within the renewable sector.
  • Exposure to other related engineering practice such as electrical, civil, or wind resource considered advantageous.
  • Exposure to ACCIONA wind technology, modelling, and business systems advantageous.
  • Advanced communication skills and proven interpersonal abilities in a professional setting.
  • Well organized and able to manage changing priorities.
  • Must be able to travel for training and meetings to various locations (including international).
  • Experience with Maximo or a similar maintenance management system an advantage.
  • Experience with AEMO operational requirements an advantage.
