We are hiring a Release Manager
Hybrid working model – Novi Sad or Belgrade
Role Description
We are looking for an experienced Release Manager with a strong DevOps background to lead end-to-end release planning, coordination, governance, and production deployment activities for enterprise applications and platforms.
In this role, you will ensure that releases are delivered in a controlled, secure, and efficient manner through established CI/CD practices, change management processes, deployment governance, and operational readiness standards. You will work closely with Project Managers, Engineering Teams, DevOps, Infrastructure, Architecture, Security, Production Support, and Business Stakeholders to drive successful production releases and continuous delivery excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Own release planning, release calendars, deployment schedules, dependency management, and production release coordination
Manage end-to-end release execution across development, testing, staging, and production environments
Coordinate release checkpoints, including code freezes, build validation, UAT sign-off, change approvals, go/no-go decisions, and deployment confirmations
Drive release automation through CI/CD pipelines, deployment orchestration, configuration management, and DevOps best practices
Prepare release documentation, including release notes, implementation plans, deployment checklists, rollback procedures, smoke test plans, and operational handover documentation
Ensure deployment and operational readiness through environment validation, runbooks, monitoring dashboards, support procedures, and service management processes.
Coordinate deployment war rooms, stakeholder communications, risk reviews, issue escalations, and critical release activities
Work with Engineering and DevOps teams to improve automation, deployment reliability, and release efficiency
Ensure operational readiness through runbooks, monitoring dashboards, support procedures, and service management processes
Track release metrics, deployment performance, production incidents, release success rates, and continuous improvement actions
Support post-release reviews, lessons learned sessions, and implementation of improvement initiatives
Your Profile
Must Have Requirements
8+ years of experience in Release Management, DevOps Engineering, Application Deployment, Platform Delivery, Production Operations, or related fields
Experience managing enterprise application releases in regulated, complex, or large-scale environments
Strong understanding of release management frameworks, deployment governance, and change management processes
Hands-on knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, build automation, deployment strategies, branch management, version control, and release tagging
Experience coordinating cross-functional teams including Project Managers, Developers, QA Engineers, DevOps Engineers, Infrastructure Teams, Security Teams, Architects, and Production Support
Experience with ITSM processes including Change, Incident, Problem, Configuration, and Release Management
Strong risk management, issue resolution, dependency tracking, and stakeholder management skills
Experience preparing deployment runbooks, rollback plans, release documentation, SOPs, and audit evidence
Understanding of cloud platforms, APIs, containerized environments, infrastructure dependencies, monitoring, and security controls
Excellent communication, organizational, and coordination skills
Ability to manage multiple concurrent releases and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Have
Experience working within banking, financial services, fintech, or other highly regulated industries
Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD platforms
Experience with Jira, Azure Boards, ServiceNow, or other release and change management tools
Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, or cloud-native deployment platforms
Exposure to Terraform, Ansible, Helm, Bash, PowerShell, or Python scripting for deployment automation
Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, or ELK
ITIL Foundation Certification
DevOps Foundation Certification
Microsoft Azure DevOps Engineer Certification
Kubernetes or Cloud Platform Certifications
