Overview:

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator for Cornell 2- our Medical Oncology Unit! This is a full-time night shift position (12 hour) in Charlottesville, VA.

Cornell 2: Our Medical Oncology Unit specializes in surgical Oncology, urology, vascular, and chest tube care, providing a dynamic environment for experienced nursing professionals. With a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5/1:6, you'll develop your skills while receiving mentorship from experienced staff. We care for a diverse patient population, including those with CHF, COPD, oncology patients with neutropenia or new diagnoses, and amputations. Operating on 12-hour shifts with weekend rotations, we offer comprehensive orientation and ongoing professional development to foster collaboration and growth in your nursing career. The Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff. Increase staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.

Education

• Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN (required) Or
• MSN (Preferred)

Certification/Licensure

• Registered nursing License (Required)
• BLS required within 90 days of hire
• Professional Specialty Nursing Certification preferred.

Experience

• 18 Months of acute care RN experience(required)
• Previous healthcare experience (required)
• Post surgical area experience (preferred)
• Same Day surgery experience (preferred)
