About the role 

As Regional Solution Design Engineer, you will develop cost-effective, high-quality Lead Logistics solutions that address complex customer requirements and can be implemented and executed successfully. Reporting to the Regional Head of Solution Design Engineering, you will work closely with Growth Managers, Sales, Opportunity Management, Product, Technology, and client teams throughout the sales cycle for New Store Sales and Same Store Sales opportunities. You will apply a methodical, customer-focused approach to translate supply chain challenges into scalable solution proposals and clear Solution Design Documents.

  • Design complex, customer-focused Lead Logistics solutions with regional and global reach. 

  • Partner with commercial, product, technology, engineering, and customer teams during strategic sales pursuits. 

  • Influence win rate, solution quality, implementation readiness, and profitable growth. 

  • Help advance standard solution assets, digital engineering tools, and consistent global delivery. 

Key responsibilities 

  • Develop solution designs aligned with Lead Logistics strategy and customer needs. 

  • Create and maintain solution concepts and Solution Design Documents throughout the sales cycle. 

  • Interpret customer requirements and translate supply chain pain points into clear solution proposals and deliverables. 

  • Recommend efficient alternatives to address customer challenges and create measurable supply chain improvements. 

  • Identify platform and process gaps and clearly articulate risks associated with the proposed design. 

  • Coordinate with multiple Maersk product teams to ensure end-to-end execution requirements are addressed in a client-centric proposal. 

  • Configure standard solution building blocks to maximize reuse of solutions already operating successfully. 

  • Quantify solution resource and implementation requirements, including staffing, cost, EDI development, facilities, capabilities, equipment, and services. 

  • Partner with Product and Technology teams to develop alternatives when capability gaps are identified. 

  • Present solutions clearly to customers and ensure a high-quality handover to implementation teams. 

  • Project manage the solution design process to support accurate, on-time delivery. 

  • Channel requests and lead escalations for the re-engineering or redevelopment of solution building blocks. 

  • Work with center teams to identify opportunities to improve the solution engineering process and support consistent global delivery. 

Who we are looking for

  • Bring 10+ years of experience in supply chain and logistics, including implementation of complex solutions in enterprise customer environments. 

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in a supply chain-related field. 

  • Have experience with Procure-to-Pay processes, vendor-managed inventory, transportation, logistics, or related solutions. 

  • Understand supply chain management practices, strategies, and industry best practices. 

  • Bring familiarity with SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems. 

  • Demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, technical, and process-oriented capabilities with a focus on quality outputs. 

  • Engage customers and stakeholders effectively, lead discussions, listen and learn, and communicate complex details at the appropriate level. 

  • Collaborate across an international matrix organization while remaining resilient, goal-oriented, and effective with minimal supervision. 

  • Navigate ambiguity confidently and develop pragmatic, innovative solutions by drawing on a broad stakeholder network. 

  • Communicate fluently in English across written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal settings. 

  • Supply chain and Lean Six Sigma certifications are considered an advantage. 

Job Type: Full-time

Location: Charlotte, NC (On-site)

Salary: $120,000 – $130,000*

*The stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary and may be adjusted based on market conditions, experience, and location. Final compensation will be discussed directly with the selected candidate(s) in compliance with all applicable laws.
