About this Reefer Operations role at Rhenus
What You Can Expect:
Act as the main operational point of contact for key Reefer customers, ensuring a high level of service and the best possible customer experience throughout the shipment process.
Maintain proactive and continuous communication with key customers, keeping them fully informed and up to date on bookings, schedules, shipment status, delays, incidents and any relevant operational changes.
Understand and anticipate customers’ specific Reefer requirements, ensuring that temperature, handling, equipment and delivery conditions are correctly managed.
Coordinate the end-to-end operational process with shipping lines, origin offices, suppliers, carriers and internal departments, ensuring smooth execution of shipments.
Monitor shipments closely and proactively identify potential delays, operational risks or issues, taking corrective action before they impact the customer whenever possible.
Manage and resolve operational incidents, providing customers with timely solutions and clear communication, and escalating critical matters when required.
Ensure that agreed service levels, operational conditions and customer requirements are consistently met.
Review and control shipping documentation, operational costs and additional charges, ensuring accurate registration and invoicing.
Coordinate customs clearance, inland transportation and final delivery, ensuring an efficient and seamless flow of the Reefer cargo.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key Reefer customers, contributing to customer retention, satisfaction and long-term business development.
Ensure compliance with Rhenus procedures, internal controls and applicable regulations for temperature-controlled cargo.
What You Bring:
- CFGS in International Trade, Transport and Logistics or related qualification.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Reefer cargo, in freight forwarding / ocean freight operations.
- Knowledge and practical experience in Reefer operations and temperature-controlled cargo will be highly valued.
- Knowledge of ocean freight processes, shipping lines, bookings, Bills of Lading, customs procedures and inland transportation.
- Ability to coordinate multiple shipments and operational priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to balance operational priorities with business requirements.
- Knowledge of and/or training related to IMDG, ADR and IATA will be valued.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage operational incidents effectively.
- Customer-oriented mindset and ability to understand and respond to customer requirements.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, shipping lines, carriers and internal departments in a diverse multicultural environment.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Proactive, organised and detail-oriented personality.
- Ability to make decisions and take responsibility for operational matters within the established framework.
