Position Summary 

Highest-level reciprocating engine specialist responsible for complex diagnostics, commissioning support, fleet reliability, and continuous improvement of maintenance programs. Operates independently across sites and serves as a technical authority for field teams. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

• Perform advanced diagnostics and resolve complex or novel failures on reciprocating generators and auxiliary systems. 
• Lead root-cause analysis efforts and implement sustainable corrective actions and revised procedures. 
• Provide commissioning support, major component troubleshooting, and performance optimization. 
• Support and mentor Intermediate and Entry Technicians; serve as technical escalation point. 
• Develop, improve, and standardize maintenance procedures, troubleshooting guides, and reliability practices. 
• Support toughest field issues across multiple sites with minimal oversight. 

Education, Experience & Training 

• 5+ years of advanced reciprocating engine or generator experience. 
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems and perform root-cause analysis. 
• Strong schematic, controls, and diagnostic software literacy. 
• Proven contribution to procedure development, reliability, or maintenance program improvement. 

Certifications 

Valid Driver’s License, with Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) within acceptable parameters of Company Policy. 

Physical Demands 

• Operation of heavy equipment and tools. 
• Standing up to 75% of the time; sitting up to 25% of the time. 
• Ability to climb ladders or stairs and maintain balance without assistance. 
• Frequent lifting of at least 10 pounds; infrequent lifting over 50 pounds. 
• Work in high-noise environments (>85 dBA) with required hearing protection. 
• Work outdoors in extreme heat and cold; controlled exposure to hazardous chemicals. 
• Use of required PPE including FR clothing, hard hats, hearing, eye, and foot protection. 

Travel Requirements 

Position may require domestic and international travel and overnight stays depending on business needs. Travel may exceed 50% and may occur on short notice.
