Raw Material Handler
FT. Lauderdale, FL.

Starting at: $16.50/hr
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm

Position Summary:
Responsible for opening raw material boxes and packages, delivering raw material to the production line.
Essential Functions:
- Opens boxes and moves raw materials into the production room.
- Removes raw materials from plastic packaging or container.
- Feeds raw material to various production lines.
- Loads chemical intervention cabinet and mechanical tenderizer (USDA department only).
- Hand scaling of raw material (Seafood Only).Maintains a clean, neat and safe work area, including disposal of packaging and cartons, sweeping, storage of extra material and clean up of supplies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
- Ability to follow directions, standard procedures and respond to instructions
- Ability to solve routine problems of limited scope and complexity following established policies and procedures.
- Employees in all warehouse positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns that are used to warn employees of the start-up, movement, or approach of equipment (including forklifts, turrets, overhead cranes, conveyors, trucks, and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations during warehouse operations.
- Must have ability to read, write and communicate in English.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
