Railroad Field Supervisor

Starting Salary: $64,000/year — higher salary available depending on experience
Position Overview
We are hiring a Railroad Field Supervisor to oversee crews and field activities involving railroad emergency response, railcar repairs, load adjustment and transfers, and track maintenance and construction.
This position combines crew leadership with hands-on field operations. You will coordinate daily assignments, promote safe work practices, monitor equipment and project progress, and communicate with customers and regulatory personnel.
What You'll Do
Coordinate daily assignments and supervise field crews.
Conduct job safety briefings and enforce PPE, FRA, and DOT requirements.
Oversee field projects and assist with hands-on work and equipment operation.
Communicate with customers, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders.
Complete payroll, equipment-use, and project reports accurately and on time.
Train, coach, and evaluate team members.
Prepare project quotes covering labor, equipment, and logistics.
Inspect equipment and help ensure it remains ready for field assignments.
Support derailment response, railcar repair, load adjustment/transfer, and track maintenance and construction work.
Qualifications
2+ years of railroad industry experience.
Knowledge of DOT, FRA, and railroad safety regulations.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and reporting systems.
Valid driver's license; CDL Class A or B preferred.
Experience operating heavy equipment, including cranes and excavators.
Ability to read load charts and understand rigging practices.
Work Environment
Outdoor work in all weather conditions.
Frequent travel and overnight assignments.
Physically demanding work, including walking on uneven terrain and lifting.
Extended work hours may be required based on project and emergency-response needs.
