Job Description Summary

Dauch is seeking a Quality Manager to join our world-class team. This is an outstanding opportunity to be part of a leading company in the automotive industry, where you will have the chance to contribute to the flawless execution of our manufacturing processes. This role located at our World Headquarters in Detroit, MI.

The Quality Manager oversees the administration and continual improvement of quality-management systems. Supports development of quality-assurance strategies, processes, guidelines and control plans that ensure quality and reliability of manufactured products. Leads the initiation and follow-up of corrective action requests and preventive measures to achieve cost of quality targets. Investigates and addresses trends with internal and external nonconformances. Leads, manages, and develops multiple teams, team leaders, quality specialists, and inspectors to ensure that quality standards are met.

Job Description:

  • Manage quality organizational strategies by contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction; establishing functional objectives in line with organization goals.
  • Support quality operational strategies by analyzing trends; preparing critical measurements; implementing production, productivity, quality, customer-service, safety, security, and health strategies.
  • Lead system improvements; enforcing quality-assurance policies and procedures and government requirements.
  • Collaborate with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs, and manufacturing and training methods; writing and updating quality assurance procedures.
  • Manage quality assurance financial strategies by anticipating requirements, trends, and variances; developing action plans; measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of variances.
  • Establish quality and reliability standards by studying product and consumer requirements with other members of management and with production operators, technicians and engineers.
  • Establish raw material standards by studying manufacturing and engineering requirements; conferring and negotiating with suppliers; devising testing methods and procedures.
  • Establish in-process product inspection standards by studying manufacturing methods; devising testing methods and procedures.
  • Establish standards for disposition of finished product by devising evaluation tests, methods and procedures.
  • Establish rework standards by devising inspection and physical testing methods and procedures.
  • Contribute to quality assurance and organization success by welcoming related, different, and new requests; helping others accomplish job results.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • 7+ years experience in Quality in a manufacturing environment (automotive or metal manufacturing highly desired).
  • 5+ years progressive leadership experience.
  • Experience in auditing (IATF, ISO, etc.) and customer relationship management.
