The Opportunity: 
Working for Online Institute of Higher Education (OIHE), this role will report to the CEO. The Quality & Compliance Officer plays a pivotal role in ensuring OIHE meets its regulatory and governance obligations while driving a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leaders, governance committees and key stakeholders across the organisation, contributing to the effectiveness and integrity of the Institute's compliance, quality assurance and governance framework. We are seeking a highly organised and detailed orientated professional who is passionate about maintaining high standards and supporting the ongoing success of a growing higher education provider. 

 
This is a part-time, 12-month fixed-term contract. We are looking for someone that can work 3 or 4 days a week and are open to discuss what will work best for the successful candidate during the recruitment process. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinating compliance activities aligned with TEQSA requirements and the Higher Education Standards Framework (HESF). 
  • Supporting provider registration, re-registration and course accreditation activities. 
  • Preparing regulatory submissions, reports, notifications and compliance documentation. 
  • Managing the Institute's policy framework, including policy reviews, registers and document control processes. 
  • Providing secretariat support to the Academic Board and governance committees, including meeting coordination, agenda preparation, minute-taking and action tracking. 
  • Maintaining governance records, risk registers and committee documentation. 
  • Supporting quality assurance, audit and continuous improvement initiatives across the Institute. 

 

About you: 

  • At least 5 years' experience in a compliance, quality assurance or governance secretariat role, ideally within a TEQSA-registered higher education provider or RTO. 
  • Sound working knowledge of the Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) 2021 and TEQSA's regulatory approach. 
  • Strong policy writing, records management and risk register maintenance skills. 
  • Experience providing secretariat support to a Board or Academic Board, including minute-taking and Terms of Reference administration. 
  • High attention to detail and the ability to independently manage multiple statutory deadlines. 
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing responsibilities. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to build effective relationships with academic, governance and operational stakeholders
