Location/Division Specific Information:
Laboratory Setting

A Day in the Life:

  • Perform analytical testing of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and stability samples using wet chemistry and instrumental techniques
  • Operate analytical instrumentation including HPLC, atomic absorption (AA), flame photometry, UV/Vis spectrophotometry, automated titrators, and pH meters
  • Prepare samples, standards, reagents, and solutions required for routine analytical testing
  • Review analytical data and documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, traceability, and compliance with established procedures
  • Maintain laboratory documentation in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
  • Troubleshoot analytical instruments and testing issues to minimize downtime and support manufacturing schedules
  • Identify and initiate investigations for out-of-specification (OOS), atypical, or unexpected analytical results
  • Support investigative testing, instrument qualification, method verification, and validation activities
  • Perform routine instrument calibration, verification, system suitability, and preventive maintenance activities
  • Maintain laboratory operational readiness through reagent and standard expiry monitoring, inventory management, equipment logs, and general laboratory organization
  • Partner with Quality, Manufacturing, and other cross-functional teams to resolve testing issues and support timely product release
  • Follow established SOPs, test methods, safety requirements, and quality-system procedures while maintaining an inspection-ready laboratory environment


Education:

  • Required Education: High school diploma or GED
  • Required Education: Bachelor's degree


Experience:

  • Required: Minimum of 1 year of work experience in QA or QC or related field
  • Preferred: Experience in a cGMP environment


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong cross functional relationship building
  • Independent self-motivated worker

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Virginia is $16.95–$25.42.
