About this QA Test Analyst role at Covetrus

Covetrus · Remote · United Kingdom (UK) - Remote

Covetrus is a global animal-health technology and services leader dedicated to empowering veterinary practice partners to drive improved health and financial outcomes. We bring together products, services, and technology into a single platform that connects our customers to the solutions and insights they need to work best. Our passion for the well-being of animals and those who care for them drives us to advance the world of veterinary medicine.

The QA / Test Analyst is a new role splitting formal testing and quality assurance out of the Business Analyst function, where today requirements, project management, testing, and QA are bundled into one job.

Based in the UK IT team, the role builds a repeatable, auditable testing discipline across the department's bespoke Java/PostgreSQL applications and third-party integrations and directly addresses the risk of concurrent go-lives competing for the same shared testing resource.

About the role

  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for new features, integrations, and go-lives across the IT project portfolio, including Wholesale Finance, Multi-pick, and Ireland Scan to Van.
  • Perform functional, regression, and user acceptance testing coordination for the department's bespoke Java/PostgreSQL applications.
  • Identify, log, and track defects through to resolution, working closely with Development and Business Analysts to prioritise fixes ahead of go-live deadlines.
  • Build out formal QA processes and documentation where testing is currently handled informally within the BA role, establishing a repeatable, auditable testing discipline.
  • Own testing workstreams independently on parallel projects, reducing the risk that concurrent go-lives compete for the same shared testing resource.
  • Work with the Infra/DevOps Engineer on test environment setup, configuration, and data refreshes.
  • Escalate quality risks and testing gaps to the BA Manager in a timely manner.

GDP, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 Responsibilities.

  • Complying with applicable company policies, procedures, work instructions and legal/regulatory requirements relevant to their role.
  • Following the requirements of the company's Quality Management System (ISO 9001), Environmental Management System (ISO 14001) and Good Distribution Practice (GDP).
  • Completing all required training and maintaining the competence necessary to perform their role effectively.
  • Maintaining accurate, complete and timely records and ensuring that required information is appropriately documented.
  • Reporting deviations, incidents, non-conformances, environmental incidents and other concerns promptly to their manager or the appropriate responsible person.
  • Supporting the effective operation and continual improvement of company processes.
  • Taking appropriate action to prevent errors, product quality issues, environmental impacts and risks within their area of responsibility.
  • Cooperating with internal and external audits and providing accurate information and evidence when requested.
  • Understanding how their activities contribute to product quality, customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, environmental performance and the achievement of company objectives.

About you

  • Proven experience in a QA/Test Analyst role, ideally within a software, SaaS, or bespoke-application environment.
  • Experience writing and executing test plans, test cases, and scripts for both manual and, ideally, automated testing.
  • Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira.
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle and QA best practice within an Agile or hybrid delivery environment.
  • Experience testing integrations, ERP or business systems, or bespoke applications is an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing testing priorities across concurrent projects.
  • Good communication skills, comfortable working closely with Business Analysts, Developers, and Infrastructure/DevOps colleagues.

Covetrus is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, color, religion, national origin, disability, protected Veteran status, age, or any other characteristic protected by law.
