The Purchasing Agent I supports procurement operations by processing purchase requisitions, managing purchase orders, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring timely delivery of materials. This role also assists with vendor sourcing, order tracking, and cost-saving initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Source, evaluate, and support vendor relationships
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, and delivery requirements
• Create and manage purchase orders
• Track orders and resolve delivery or pricing issues
• Maintain purchasing data, part numbers, pricing, and BOMs in JDE
• Coordinate RMAs and supplier follow-up
• Communicate order status with internal stakeholders
• Support sourcing strategies and cost reduction efforts

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 0-2 years of purchasing, procurement, or related experience preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
• Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and problem-solving abilities
• Experience with JD Edwards (JDE) preferred
