About this Publishing Coordinator role at Thomson Reuters
Job Description:
Asian Legal Business (ALB), owned by Thomson Reuters, publishes ALB Asia and ALB China, two of Asia's leading legal magazines. It also publishes Hong Kong Lawyer, the official journal of The Law Society of Hong Kong. Through our website (www.legalbusinessonline.com), newsletters and events across Asia, including law awards, in-house legal summits, conferences and masterclasses, we give legal professionals authoritative insights and business development opportunities.
Our clients include law firm leaders, practice heads, business development and marketing heads, general counsel and compliance officers, as well as vendors and suppliers to the legal industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Run the full monthly production cycle for ALB China and Hong Kong Lawyer, working with editorial, designer, advertisers and printers to meet deadlines
- Manage subscription and distribution enquiries, and manage vendor relationships for printing and delivery
- Act as the main contact with The Law Society of Hong Kong for subscriber updates and the monthly distribution of Hong Kong Lawyer
- Set up, schedule and track online ad campaigns on our website and weekly e-newsletter
- Handle invoicing for Hong Kong and China clients, from issuing invoices to following up on payments
- Coordinate event preparation and provide on-site support when needed
- Collect and analyse data on subscriptions, ad performance and reader engagement, and prepare complex reports for management
- Draft letters and emails and manage team communications
Required Qualifications
- 8–10 years of relevant experience, preferably in publishing or media
- Fluent in English and [Mandarin/Cantonese], written and spoken; able to write in [Simplified/Traditional] Chinese
- Highly organised, able to manage several deadlines at once and pay close attention to detail
- Advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel
- Learns quickly and works well both in a team and alone with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
It's a plus if you have any of the following:
- A background in legal, professional services or B2B (business-to-business) publishing
- Hands-on print production experience, from proofing and print specifications through to working with printers
- Knowledge of subscription, circulation or distribution management
- Familiarity with a CMS, an ad server or email marketing tools [replace with your actual systems]
