Reports directly to the Dispatcher/Assistant District Manager and is charged with assisting in the successful management of the location operations. Successfully supervises subordinate employees in the location operations. Promotes and communicates the Safety and Quality Systems through meetings. Performs service coordination and manages yard activity. Analyzes mechanical and electrical equipment to determine potential problems and necessary improvements to ensure viability of company equipment. Verifies that all equipment is within certification. Obtain or assist in obtaining the supplies required to maintain the service line equipment utilize only approved vendors, and purchase order forms. Maintains records, with sufficient commentary, to ensure that requirements for quality assurance have been met. Provides mechanical assistance and advice to other employees as necessary. Analyzes and evaluates the cost of repairs to service line equipment. Repairs or supervises the repair of service line equipment. Enhances mechanical methods and techniques. Communicates condition of equipment that does not meet specs to the Assistant District/Location Manager for replacement and/or disposal. Maintains segregation of equipment. Administers SSE program. Maintains and logs all repair parts for all equipment to meet customer requirements. Reports and notifies appropriate personnel of inventory inconsistencies. Communicates newly assigned asset number to shop personnel and assures that equipment is stenciled with the same prior to placing equipment into service. Other duties as assigned.
