BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for a dynamic and results-driven individual to join our team as a Prototype Build Operations Technician at our Luxembourg Technical Center in Hautcharage, Luxembourg. This opportunity is offered through a temporary staffing agency for an assignment expected to run until June 2027. It represents an excellent opportunity to contribute to innovative prototype development projects within a leading automotive technology company.

The Prototype Build Operations Technician is responsible for the assembly and testing of prototype products in accordance with Manufacturing Processes, Control Plans, and Work Instructions, while ensuring on-time delivery and the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

·         Prepare kit carts using components from the storage area while respecting traceability rules.

·         Assemble and test prototype products in accordance with Process Control Plans (PCP) and Work Instructions.

·         Record and report all deviations identified during the build process to the Quality Engineer.

·         Actively participate in the resolution of assembly issues with Product, Process, and Quality Engineering teams.

·         Follow established operational processes and procedures.

·         Participate in daily production meetings with relevant stakeholders.

·         Support continuous improvement activities related to safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.

·         Knowledge of one or more of the following technologies is considered an asset: semi-automated and automated assembly, screwdriving, leak testing, Hi-Pot testing, and vision systems.

·         Demonstrate strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills.

What we’re looking for

·         Technical degree, or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

·         2–5 years of experience as a Manufacturing, Production, or Prototype Technician.

·         Experience in the automotive industry and with power electronics products is considered is preferred.

·         Ability to read and follow work instructions, manufacturing processes, and quality requirements.

·         Flexible working hours required to support demanding prototype build schedules and changing priorities.

·         Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment in accordance with 5S principles.

·         Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

·         Good oral and written communication skills.

·         Fluency in English; knowledge of French is considered an asset.
