Site Overview

Established in 2000, the John F. Welch Technology Center (JFWTC) in Bengaluru is our multidisciplinary research and engineering center. Engineers and scientists at JFWTC have contributed to hundreds of aviation patents, pioneering breakthroughs in engine technologies, advanced materials, and additive manufacturing.

Role Overview

  • Responsible for Operation, Maintenance & Trouble shooting of all Electrical Equipment’s (Transformers, DG’s, Chillers, UPS, data center, BMS,FAS,PA & all other Building operation systems).

  • Operation and maintenance of 66KV substation

  • Responsible for preparing maintenance schedules of all equipment’s and regulate maintenance staff in executing them

  • Responsible for maintaining sufficient inventory for critical equipment’s related to Electrical Function

  • Responsible to ensure comply with the applicable statutory for electrical equipment’s and systems.

  • Responsible for imparting training to the new staff/technicians.

  • Preparation of annual budgets, MIS, manpower management ensuring smooth operation.

  • Responsible for preparation of RCA and provide appropriate action/solution for breakdowns.

  • Provides inputs for the budget planning for the Electrical O&M activities in accordance with sites requirement

  • Responsible for maintaining and monitoring of  Electrical  tools, PPE, SOP, Equipment list, History card etc.,

  • To ensure compliance with all statutory requirements relating to Electrical equipment’s and its systems through regular Audits.

  • Support to project team and approve electrical drawings and BOQ

  • Responsible for visiting government office like CEIG, BESCOM for submitting documents and obtaining government approvals

  • Position would be individual contributor role with no GE direct reports

Ideal Candidate:

  • Ideal candidate should have experience in Operation & maintenance of Electrical Function

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Electrical Engineering/equivalent with professional experience with 8+ years of experience on operation and maintenance of Electrical equipment’s at large facility.  

  • Should have valid electrical supervisor license 

  • Should have good knowledge of reading electrical drawings

  • Sound knowledge of Electrical Standards ( IE, NFPA)

  • Knowledge of process and services interlocking

  • Should be familiar in reading electrical drawings

  • Should have knowledge about the requirements of the necessary statutory approvals required for Electrical Installations/Dismantling

  • Good knowledge of developing electrical power distribution & load calculation

  • Good knowledge of selection of drive components including electrical cables and other equipment

  • Understanding local language will be an added advantage
