The Project Risk Analyst supports project teams by identifying, assessing, quantifying, monitoring and communicating project risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle. This role works closely with project leadership, estimating, scheduling, preconstruction and operations teams to support the Michels Risk Management Framework and strengthen risk-informed decision making. Responsibilities include facilitating risk reviews, supporting quantitative cost and schedule risk analyses, developing three-point estimates, mapping risks to cost accounts and schedule activities, and assisting with uncertainty, correlation, sensitivity and Monte Carlo analyses. The position also prepares risk dashboards, heat maps, trend reports and executive-level presentations, tracks mitigation activities and emerging exposures, and helps continuously improve risk-management procedures, tools, training, metrics and reporting.

What it takes?

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Project Management, Finance, Business Analytics, Economics or a related field; equivalent education and relevant experience may be considered
  • 2–5 years of experience in project risk management, project controls, estimating, scheduling, preconstruction, cost analysis, construction operations or a related field
  • Experience supporting large or complex construction, infrastructure, energy, utility, transportation, marine or industrial projects preferred
  • Understanding of project cost, schedule and risk concepts, including contingency and uncertainty
  • Experience developing or supporting quantitative cost and schedule risk analyses preferred
  • Familiarity with three-point estimating, Monte Carlo simulation, uncertainty modeling, correlation and sensitivity analysis preferred
  • Ability to interpret project data and communicate key risk drivers, mitigation status, emerging exposures and potential impacts to project objectives
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Primavera P6 and/or Safran Risk Manager is desired
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across project teams and leadership
  • Ability to travel as required for project meetings, risk workshops and trainings
