SMA Program Management

As a Project Manager within the SMA Program Management team at PIMCO, you will play a critical role in coordinating the team’s project portfolio, establishing clear priorities, and ensuring that business and technology initiatives progress from planning through completion.

You will serve as the central point of coordination across Business Analysts, technology teams, and business stakeholders. Acting as the team’s operational “traffic controller,” you will capture and organize incoming requests, translate priorities into actionable plans, and maintain accountability for deliverables, timelines, and follow-up.

This role will also provide day-to-day guidance to Business Analysts, helping them assume greater ownership of key applications, processes, and technology relationships. By creating structure around responsibilities and delivery expectations, you will enable the broader team to dedicate additional capacity to strategic initiatives and deeper stakeholder engagement.

The successful candidate will bring strong project management discipline, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced financial services environment. Experience with Jira, Confluence, Copilot, Lucidchart, Agile delivery practices, and cross-functional technology programs will be essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own project intake, prioritization, and tracking across multiple initiatives using Jira
  • Lead daily standups and coordinate project activities to ensure deliverables remain on track
  • Drive accountability across Business Analysts and technology partners to execute against agreed timelines and objectives
  • Provide day-to-day oversight and guidance to Business Analysts, helping them expand ownership of key applications and technology relationships
  • Develop and maintain project plans, status reporting, and PMO processes
  • Create and maintain workflow documentation, process maps, and operational procedures
  • Partner with business stakeholders to align priorities and communicate project progress, risks, and dependencies
  • Continuously improve team processes, governance, and delivery practices

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university
  • 5-6 years of experience in project management, program management, business analysis, or a related field
  • Financial services industry experience required
  • Strong experience with Jira, Confluence, Copilot and Lucidchart
  • Experience coordinating Agile/Scrum teams, including daily standups and backlog management
  • Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and follow-through skills
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive initiatives from concept to completion

Preferred Skills

  • Scrum Master, Agile, or Project Management certification
  • Experience supporting business applications and technology-enabled business processes
  • Strong process-mapping and workflow-documentation experience
