Employment Type: Full-Time
Work Environment: Primarily Site-Based (Long-Term Project Assignments)

Help Deliver World-Class Mission-Critical Infrastructure

The successful delivery of hyperscale data centers begins with transforming greenfield sites into fully developed mission-critical campuses through large-scale earthwork, utility installation, infrastructure development, logistics planning, and disciplined project execution.

Project Engineers play a critical role in supporting project teams throughout this process, helping coordinate field operations, track project performance, manage documentation, support project controls, and ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with customer expectations.

At Michels Infrastructure Solutions (MIS), we deliver some of North America's largest and most complex mission-critical and hyperscale infrastructure projects. As the general contracting and EPC delivery arm of Michels, MIS leverages the self-perform capabilities of the Michels Family of Companies to execute every phase of construction, from site development and utilities through power infrastructure, commissioning, and project closeout.

Our teams support leading technology companies and developers by delivering the critical infrastructure required to power cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and digital connectivity. Known for tackling challenging scopes, aggressive schedules, and complex project environments, MIS combines the resources of a national EPC contractor with the accountability, agility, and hands-on leadership needed to successfully deliver world-class mission-critical facilities.

Position Overview

As a Project Engineer, you will assist in managing large-scale hyperscale data center and mission-critical infrastructure projects or independently manage smaller project scopes under the guidance of a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager.

During the early phases of project execution, you will support large-scale site-development and infrastructure operations including land clearing, mass grading, earthwork, drainage systems, wet utilities, dry utilities, power infrastructure, logistics planning, and construction readiness activities. You will work closely with field leadership and project teams to help transform greenfield sites into fully developed mission-critical campuses.

You will support all phases of project execution, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, contract administration, project controls, customer communication, quality management, and field coordination.

This role serves as a key link between project management and field operations, helping ensure projects progress safely, efficiently, and in alignment with schedule, budget, and quality objectives. You will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders while developing the skills necessary to advance into future project leadership roles.

Success requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, communication abilities, and the capacity to make sound decisions in a fast-paced construction environment.
