Job Purpose
The Project Engineer serves as a technical and execution focal point among customers, project teams, manufacturing sites, and external suppliers. Under the direction of Project Management leadership and in collaboration with assigned project managers and factory teams, the role monitors project health, coordinates technical deliverables, supports milestone achievement, facilitates issue resolution, and contributes to accurate financial forecasting and project reporting.
The Project Engineer also supports disciplined use of global project-management procedures, change controls, risk-management methods, document-control practices, and reporting tools to improve customer experience and project performance.
Key Responsibilities
Project Execution and Coordination
Provide technical support for flow-control order execution from product selection through order closeout. Coordinate cross-functional activities required for the efficient and timely delivery of engineered-to-order flow-control equipment. Serve as a technical and execution focal point among customers, project managers, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, finance, service teams, and external suppliers. Provide technical and operational support to factory project managers throughout the project lifecycle. Escalate complex issues and coordinate appropriate subject-matter experts and stakeholders when additional technical expertise or authority is required. Review technical requirements, customer specifications, project scope, and technical documentation to ensure requirements are understood, communicated, and incorporated into execution plans. Support cost reduction, lead-time improvement, and execution-efficiency initiatives while maintaining compliance with customer, contractual, quality, and safety requirements.
Project Controls and Financial Performance
Monitor project schedules, milestones, deliverables, financial performance, and closeout requirements to maintain alignment of activities to goals. Support the tracking and forecasting of revenue, gross margin, percent completion, cash flow, invoicing, collections, aging receivables, and delivery performance. Proactively communicate emerging concerns and escalate issues when additional resources, technical support, commercial direction, or management decisions are required.
Documentation and Governance
Coordinate the preparation, review, submission, and approval of project deliverables, including technical documents, inspection and test procedures, execution documents, and customer-specific documentation. Process technical, commercial, quality, and project-execution documentation to ensure accuracy, traceability, revision control, timely submission, and compliance with contractual and Flowserve requirements. Participate in project audits, gate reviews, and compliance checks to confirm adherence to project-management, quality, safety, and document-control processes.
Continuous Improvement
Maintain project lessons-learned records and support post-project reviews to identify improvements for future proposals and project execution. Promote standardized project-management processes, PMO policies, lean practices, and continuous-improvement methods across project activities. Identify and recommend practical improvements to project tools, work processes, reporting, documentation, and cross-functional coordination.
Customer and Site Engagement
