About this Project Controls Scheduler - Gas Power Generation role at Blattner Company
Blattner is expanding our energy construction leadership into gas power generation. This is a unique opportunity to help build this new business from the ground up, backed by a company with decades of proven success in the energy sector. This position will help us shape the processes and standards that carry this business forward to deliver end-to-end hybrid energy solutions.
Supports scheduling activities for assigned projects (internal and external) under the direction of the Project Manager, Senior or Lead professionals or direct leadership. Supports Blattner Operations Project Management teams through creation, modification, and analysis of resource loaded Critical Path Method (CPM) project schedules and earned value related dashboards and metrics. Meets and exceeds Client's expectations according to contractual schedule requirements. Works with the project management team to update the project schedule as needed and according to Blattner procedures.
A DAY IN THE LIFE
- Builds initial resource loaded baseline schedule for projects, ensuring compliance with Critical Path Method (CPM) best practices and contract requirements in accordance with Blattner policy and procedures.
- Utilizes P6 health check to validate schedule against applicable DCMA metrics.
- Supports schedule risk/range analysis under the guidance of Senior and Lead professionals.
- Provides schedule updates to the project team in a timely manner to ensure all contract deliverable dates are met. Including weekly resource levelling.
- Applies predefined schedule change scenarios and documents impacts; escalates variances for mitigation planning by project leadership.
- Develops contractually required reporting as well as supplemental reporting requested by the project team or internal management. Including but not limited to look-aheads, variance and critical path reports.
- Provides field personnel training, as needed, to ensure understanding of project schedule systems, processes, and reports.
- Prepares accurate schedule status updates and standard reports for leadership review.
- Provides current project schedule for monthly project review meetings and presents at customer meetings as requested.
- Prepares Time Impact Analysis to document delays and schedule impacts using established templates and guidance.
- Ensures schedule information is uploaded to company enterprise systems including Salesforce, JDE, PM Web, etc.
- Facilitates weekly project status and look ahead meetings to ensure alignment with site team planning efforts
- Completes all required training on policies, processes, tools, and systems.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Industrial Engineering Management, Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related field; or combinations of related education and experience required.
- 2 or more years of experience in project scheduling or a combination of experience in construction and scheduling.
- Proficient with scheduling software (Primavera, Microsoft Project).
- Sets the example of living Blattner’s values and adhering to the Blattner Basics.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
- Working knowledge of Analytical Tools (I.e. -Acumen Fuse, PowerBI, Primavera Risk and Acumen Risk, etc.).
- Effective communication skills (oral, written, presentation, listening).
- Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks.
- This role will primarily be on project sites.
