The Program Manager I for the Couple and Family Therapy (CFT) program will collaborates with the CFT Program Director to coordinate student matriculation through the CFT program, from recruitment to graduation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- As Program Manager for the CFT program, this professional manages and records data for ongoing program management, including tracking of student milestone achievements/meeting of program requirements, student learning outcomes by semester, annual responses from program alumni for accreditation reports and program improvement, required documentation from CFT program faculty and supervisors, and course inventory forms.
- For recruitment, the Manager corresponds via email and phone, bi-annually with recruitment feeders for the CFT Program, including undergraduate programs from around the country and local community agencies, and may also coordinate attendance at graduate school fairs and other recruitment events with the Kent School Student Outreach Admissions and Recruitment (SOAR) team. The Manager will correspond with feeder academic programs around the country. This professional corresponds with prospective students and may participate in recruitment events to generate interest among prospective students in the CFT program.
- The Manager helps plan and coordinate events for the CFT Program, including recruitment Open Houses, virtual prospective student sessions, student and alumni socials, and community training events, and this person participates in the MSCFT student orientation and attends and records minutes for all cohort meetings and program meetings.
- This position also serves as a contact for university departments for questions or problem resolution as it relates to the CFT Program. This professional orders supplies for the CFT program, maintains the department pro-card and reallocates charges each month, and participates in budgeting and monitoring expenses. The Manager creates annual scholarship surveys and records applicants, and coordinates scholarship payments by semester or by academic year with the business service center and bursar’s office.
- The Manager also manages external requests for the scheduling CFT rooms. For admissions, the Manager also corresponds with the Graduate School and International Office to ensure all required application materials are received and filed, creates an online admissions entry in Kent database for applicants, completes the scheduling duties as required by the Registrar’s office and in appropriate software systems, answering initial inquiries by email and phone from prospective students, and coordinating services with other Kent Admissions personnel and Graduate School Admissions to respond to student concerns. This position also updates and maintains the program information in the graduate and course catalogs for admissions, prepares materials for applicant interviews and schedules interviews, completes admissions referrals in PeopleSoft, sends decision letters to applicants, and completes permissions and pre-requisites overrides in PeopleSoft as needed.
- In an advising role, the Manager checks transcripts each semester to ensure MSCFT students are in the right courses, makes course change requests as needed to the Registrar’s office, completes transfer credit forms for incoming students, manages course overload requests required by the MSCFT Program, coordinates CFT Academic Reviews, completes initial paperwork for students’ Leave of Absence, and completes graduate checklists to determine whether students are approved to graduate. The Manager also maintains student files and tracks student progress towards graduation to ensure all graduation requirements are met.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters degree in social service or related field.
- Experience in a mental health field.
- Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Target Compensation Maximum:
$91,721.00Target Compensation Minimum:
$61,147.00Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
