Keep DFW’s Market-Leading Station On-Air During Our Historic Move
KDFW FOX 4—the ratings leader in the #4 media market in the nation—is moving into a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility. To maintain seamless live newscast operations at our current facility while permanent staff train on systems at the new site, we are seeking experienced, temporary candidates to fill News Production Director, Master Control Technician, Production Technician, and Production Automation Technician roles for an 8-week assignment. Production Technician (Temporary 8-Week Assignment)
The Requirements
- Live Control Room Operations: Operate, audio consoles, robotic cameras, graphics platforms, and assist Director in coding production automation shows for high-volume news programming.
- Transmission & Ingest: Perform Transmission Operations Center (TOC) duties, leveraging modern IP video and satellite transmission platforms for news acquisition, ingest, and feed management.
- Multi-Tasking in Market #4: Manage complex technical responsibilities concurrently in a fast-paced, news-intensive market environment.
- Studio Operations: Oversee studio floor care, lighting/set upkeep, general technical readiness, assist talent and guest in studio.
- Facility Transition Support: Maintain high technical standards across daily operations and perform other duties as assigned during our physical and operational shift.
Key Requirements
- Education & Experience: 2-year technical or Radio-Television-Film (RTF) degree preferred (equivalent professional experience actively considered).
- Industry Background: 1 year of hands-on experience as a Production/Operations Technician, Master Control Technician, or Transmission Technician strongly preferred.
- Systems Knowledge: Working knowledge of modern broadcast operating systems, iNews, and core industry software.
- Soft Skills: Direct, effective communicator; highly collaborative; maintains a calm, professional demeanor under tight deadlines.
- Availability: Flexible schedule required, including nights, weekends, and holidays as operational demands shift.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $24.80-43.98 per hour.
