The Product Strategy role supports the Head of Product Strategy & Innovation in shaping and advancing the future product agenda. The role provides the analysis, insights and coordination needed to identify market opportunities and strategic growth priorities, and helps translate these into portfolio choices, product roadmaps and actionable recommendations. Working across Product, Pricing, Distribution, Marketing and other key functions, the role helps ensure product decisions are grounded in customer insight, market competitiveness and long-term business value.Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head of Product Strategy & Innovation in developing and maintaining the product strategy, ensuring alignment with business priorities, customer needs and market opportunities.
- Conduct structured market, competitor and industry analysis to identify emerging needs, behavioural shifts, underserved segments and potential growth opportunities.
- Develop insights and strategic options to support product, proposition and portfolio decisions across Protection, Health, Savings, Wealth and Retirement.
- Support product innovation activities, from opportunity sizing and concept development through to proposition assessment and business case preparation.
- Work with Product Management, Pricing, Distribution, Marketing and other functions to translate strategic priorities into product roadmaps and executable initiatives.
- Monitor portfolio performance, market competitiveness, and key external developments, highlighting implications and recommended actions.
- Coordinate research initiatives and cross-functional strategic workstreams, maintaining clear milestones, deliverables and stakeholder alignment.
- Support annual business planning, product calendar development and long-term portfolio planning through robust analysis and synthesis of inputs.
- Prepare clear strategic recommendations, management papers and presentations for senior leadership and governance forums.
- Maintain relevant market intelligence and strategic materials to support timely decision-making by the Head of Product Strategy & Innovation.
Skills & Experience
Required Experience
- 5–10 years of experience in Life Insurance, Financial Services, Management Consulting, Product Management or Business Strategy.
- Experience in Product Strategy, Product Management, Corporate Strategy, Customer Strategy, Innovation or Business Development roles.
- Good understanding of life insurance products across Protection, Health, Savings, Wealth and Retirement segments.
- Hands-on experience in market research, customer insight analysis, competitor benchmarking and business opportunity assessment.
- Ability to structure analysis, develop business cases and turn complex information into clear recommendations and executive-level presentations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and commercial evaluation capabilities, with attention to detail and sound judgement.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex issues for senior stakeholders.
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to design thinking, behavioural insights or customer-centric product development methodologies.
- Experience supporting strategic projects, transformation initiatives or senior management decision-making.
- Regional or multinational insurance experience is advantageous.
- Experience preparing materials for senior management, executive committees or governance forums
