About this Product Owner role at Talent Safari
About the Company
Eleving Group is a publicly listed international fintech company founded in 2012. We operate across 17 countries on three continents, offering consumer, vehicle, and smartphone financing products to millions of customers worldwide.
Mogo's mission is to enable upward social mobility for people in diverse communities around the world by providing entrepreneurs who are excluded from traditional banking systems with access to credit. By combining asset financing, fintech, AI-based underwriting, and proprietary car portals, we enable these local entrepreneurs (motorcycle taxi riders, Uber/Bolt drivers, and small business owners) to find and purchase their own vehicles.
About the Role
We are looking for a Product Owner who will own the product backlog for assigned products and be the voice of the user and the business within their development teams. You will translate business strategy into a clear product roadmap, decide what gets built next and why, and measure the outcomes of what we ship — not just whether it was delivered.
What You Will Do
Own the backlog: own, prioritise, and continuously refine the product backlog, keeping it visible and understood by the team
Set direction: translate business strategy into a product roadmap and clearly communicate the "why" behind priorities
Write user stories with clear acceptance criteria; keep specifications lean and focused, with sufficient guidance but no excessive detail
Work with your development team day-to-day: sprint planning, refinement, reviews — and be available to answer questions and make decisions quickly
Engage with end users and business stakeholders to surface needs, validate ideas, and align on strategic priorities
Validate technical feasibility with senior engineering staff before committing work to the backlog
Make value-based trade-off calls; deliberately limiting scope to maximise delivered value
Measure outcomes after release: adoption, usage, and business impact, and feed learnings back into the backlog
Use visual communication methods (sketches, flows, prototypes) rather than dense documentation
What You Have
Proven experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager in agile development teams, ideally within fintech, financial services, or comparable fast-paced sectors
Demonstrated ability to prioritise using data and value-based frameworks (e.g. RICE, MoSCoW, cost of delay) and to define and track product metrics and KPIs
Capacity to recognise interdependencies across features and translate them into concrete, achievable user stories
Working familiarity with user experience principles and technical architecture — enough to sketch concepts and assess implementation approaches
Hands-on experience with backlog management tools such as Jira and Confluence (or equivalent)
Strong written and verbal communication skills with a user-focused perspective on product development
Ability to move forward decisively despite incomplete data
Nice to have:
Experience with large-scale software initiatives and financial products
