About this Product Manager, Yahoo DSP (Supply) role at Yahoo

Yahoo · Onsite · United States of America

A Little About Us

The Yahoo DSP Supply Product team powers the core integrations, auction mechanics, and quality frameworks connecting advertisers to global publisher inventory. Operating at massive real-time bidding (RTB) scale, our squad owns supply path optimization (SPO), seller connectivity, and inventory transparency systems that directly drive performance and margin across Yahoo owned-and-operated and third-party exchange inventory.

Responsibilities

  • Roadmap Execution & Ownership: Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for a defined area of the DSP supply platform, translating market requirements into actionable technical roadmaps from problem definition through launch and adoption.

  • Integrations & Standards: Drive SSP and exchange integrations, evaluating partner inventory quality, scoping OpenRTB requirements, and leading features through engineering, QA, and production ramp.

  • AI-Augmented PM Workflows: Leverage generative AI capabilities (e.g., Anthropic Claude via AWS Bedrock and Atlassian AI) to rapidly draft comprehensive PRDs, synthesize seller feedback, and automate user story creation.

  • Supply Quality & Transparency: Advance supply hygiene and transparency standards, including sellers.json, SupplyChain Object, ads.txt/app-ads.txt validation, and fraud/IVT signal integration.

  • Data-Driven Analysis: Utilize AI-assisted SQL generation and data tools to perform deep-dive analyses on high-volume RTB logs, identifying supply path inefficiencies, SPO opportunities, and performance anomalies.

  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate closely with Engineering, Supply Partnerships, Yield Management, and Buy-Side Product teams to align supply capabilities with advertiser demand and commercial goals.

  • Measurement & Iteration: Instrument all launched features with explicit KPIs and telemetry up front, monitoring post-launch performance to make data-backed decisions on iteration or deprecation.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of product management experience, or equivalent technical ad tech experience (solutions engineering, yield management, or ad ops with product ownership).

  • Demonstrated track record of working directly with engineering teams to write clear, technically sound PRDs and API specifications without rework.

  • Experience utilizing AI-assisted tools (e.g., generative writing assistants, AI SQL copilots) to streamline documentation, data extraction, and workflow efficiency.

  • Strong quantitative and analytical background with hands-on experience querying and interpreting large datasets (SQL or equivalent).

  • Proven ability to communicate technical concepts clearly across diverse audiences, including software engineers, business executives, and external supply partners.

  • Demonstrated experience driving cross-functional initiatives across Engineering, Legal, Product Marketing, and Business Development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

  • Direct experience working on the supply side of a DSP, SSP, or ad exchange.

  • Deep familiarity with programmatic advertising protocols, RTB auction mechanics, OpenRTB specifications, and VAST video standards.

  • Hands-on experience analyzing data pipelines, API integrations, and distributed log architectures in large-scale ad tech environments.

  • A commitment to continuous learning and proactively identifying emerging AI tools to improve product management productivity and platform intelligence.
