Daikin Applied is seeking a Product Manager. The Product Manager will lead the strategy, development, and commercial growth of DAA’s thermal management product portfolio. In this role, you will own the product lifecycle from concept to launch—aligning market needs, technical execution, and business goals. You will work closely with engineering, sales, operations, and key customers to deliver high-performance, energy-efficient cooling solutions for commercial, industrial, or mission-critical environments (such as data centers and smart buildings). Location: Staunton, VA - Hybrid or Remote in the US

 

Your Responsibilities:

  • Product Strategy & Roadmap: Own the multi-year product roadmap and strategic vision for our thermal management portfolio, liquid cooling systems, and related heat-rejection equipment.
  • Market & Customer Insights: Conduct voice-of-customer (VoC) research and competitive analysis to identify emerging market trends, regulatory shifts, and unmet customer requirements.
  • New Product Development (NPD): Translate market demands into detailed product specifications. Partner with R&D and engineering to guide product development, managing cost, manufacturability, performance targets, and launch timelines.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with supply chain, manufacturing, quality, and finance teams to optimize product margins, oversee value-engineering (Cost-Out) projects, and ensure supply chain resilience.
  • Commercialization & Go-to-Market: Create high-impact product positioning, pricing strategies, technical literature, and sales-enablement training to support global sales channels and regional execution.
  • Lifecycle Management: Monitor ongoing product adoption, field performance, and profitability, executing lifecycle updates, enhancements, or phase-outs as necessary.

 

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business, or a related technical discipline
  • 3+ years of related experience in product management, application engineering, or product marketing within the HVAC, building automation, or industrial thermal management sector
  • Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, chillers, or cooling infrastructure
  • Excellent cross-functional leadership, communication, and stakeholder-influence abilities across engineering and commercial teams
  • Direct experience with data center thermal architecture or liquid cooling technologies (CDUs, direct-to-chip cooling) and Dry Coolers (preferred)

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $80,400 - $136,800 + 10% bonus in Virginia. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
