About OpenRouter

OpenRouter is the leading AI routing and infrastructure layer that developers and enterprises use to access, manage, and optimize their AI use across models and providers. We help our customers avoid lock-in, capacity constraints, and unnecessary cost, giving them the flexibility to move fast, scale confidently, and stay future-proof as models evolve.

OpenRouter sits at the center of how developers discover, evaluate, integrate, and operate the world’s leading open and proprietary models.

About the Role

We’re hiring the first Product Manager for our Agent Platform, named Ori. Ori is our family of tools for putting any model to work in your terminal, in Slack, and on your desktop. Ori’s mission is to promote multi-model adoption at the application layer. Many agent tools today default to a single model family, locking teams in. Ori reflects our belief that the best agent experiences come from model diversity, built upon tools that enable seamless switching.

The Ori team moves fast: a small team built the current product in a few months. You’ll identify the strongest audience for each surface, decide where to focus, and set the goals for how we know it’s working. You’ll balance developers who live in the terminal and notice every detail with teams in Slack who want to teach their interns, agents that work alongside them, without it feeling like engineering. You’ll also ensure our tools are built upon primitives that enable the entire ecosystem to build multi-model apps.

You’ll work day-to-day with a small team led by one of our co-founders, alongside design, go-to-market, and the platform teams Ori is built on. This role is for a builder who has shipped developer tools end-to-end, uses coding agents daily, and wants to take a zero-to-one product from private testing to a business inside a company that already has distribution.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the agent platform roadmap end to end across Harness, Code, Eval, Intern, and Desktop, from the CLI today to teams of interns and multi-agent deployments.

  • Set the strategy. Define the target user and competitive positioning for each surface, and decide where Ori should invest across coding, cloud, and desktop agents. Position Ori as an open reference implementation to inspire the multi-model market.

  • Take new tools from waitlist to general availability. Run private testing and design partners, drive internal dogfooding, and instrument adoption, retention, and spend.

  • Make model fungibility real. Model switching, provider fallbacks, guaranteed tool dependencies, org guardrails, and eval-driven model selection that work in any harness and on any surface.

  • Own agent experience, from install and auth to CLI UX, harness configuration, secrets, connections, and the app interfaces. You’ll help us set the quality bar for new consumer-grade experiences.

  • Close the loop with go-to-market and the platform. Turn waitlist, tester, and enterprise signal into the roadmap, and push the API and SDK gaps Ori exposes into the core product.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of product management or founder experience building developer tools, agent products, or infrastructure for technical users.

  • A zero-to-one track record. You have taken a product from prototype to paying users and are comfortable with the ambiguity and hard tradeoffs that come with it.

  • Daily fluency with coding agents. You use tools like Claude Code, Codex, Hermes, or OpenCode and have specific opinions about what makes an agent loop, a harness, or a tool integration good.

  • Strong technical judgment. You read code, run the CLI, inspect traces, and reason with engineers about agent loops, tool calling, context management, evals, and the cost, latency, and quality tradeoffs between models.

  • Strong product taste for developer tools. You’ve shipped technical products where interaction details matter, and can carry that judgment into new interfaces.

  • High agency and a bias toward action. You talk to users, prototype, ship, and iterate on a small team with fluid boundaries. You write clearly and often.

Nice to Have

  • Founder or early employee of a developer tools or agent company.

  • Experience with multi-agent systems, agent skills or memory, or evals and benchmarking products.

  • Experience shipping Slack apps or native desktop apps, or growing a product with both developer and non-developer users.

  • Existing user of OpenRouter or active side projects in AI tooling.

If you don’t think you meet all of the criteria above but are still interested in the job, please apply. Nobody checks every box, and we’re looking for someone excited to join the team.
