Role Overview
Arlo is seeking a Product Line Manager to support the product management and execution of strategic service-provider and technology-partner solutions across SaaS, cloud services, connected devices, and hardware launches.
This role will support the day-to-day product management of partner roadmaps and initiatives, coordinating requirements, releases, certifications, launches, partner communications, and escalations across multiple partner accounts.
The successful candidate will work closely with account teams to understand partner and business needs, translate those needs into clear product requirements, and coordinate delivery with internal product and engineering teams.
Partner Roadmap and SaaS Product Management
- Support product roadmap execution across assigned strategic partners.
- Work with account teams to understand business requirements, partner commitments, customer needs, and commercial priorities.
- Translate business and partner requirements into clear, actionable product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and product priorities.
- Track partner requirements, feature requests, joint roadmap items, dependencies, and delivery commitments.
- Own product management activities for SaaS and cloud features, including requirements intake, scoping, prioritization, release coordination, release notes, and partner communication.
- Coordinate with product management, engineering, cloud infrastructure, QA, security, support, and operations teams.
- Communicate release status, timelines, risks, and changes clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
- Support recurring partner interactions, including roadmap reviews, business reviews, certification cycles, launch-readiness reviews, and product updates.
- Help define and maintain API strategy, API requirements, API documentation, platform architecture inputs, and partner integration standards.
- Support the development or enhancement of partner portals, developer portals, API portals, documentation, onboarding materials, testing resources, and partner enablement tools.
Hardware, Certification, and Launch Support
- Support product requirements for hardware NPI and product launches in collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, QA, regulatory, compliance, supply chain, and marketing teams.
- Translate partner and account-team needs into requirements for customized hardware and accessory offerings.
- Track certification milestones, integration testing, launch readiness, go-to-market requirements, and partner sign-off activities.
- Support partner-specific hardware and accessory requirements, including product configuration, on-device branding, packaging, labeling, in-box materials, and regionalization.
- Coordinate SKU and pricing-related requirements with the appropriate internal teams and partners.
- Help manage risks, dependencies, and readiness gaps for launches and certifications.
- Candidates do not need to have deep hardware customization or SKU-management experience, but should be willing to learn these areas and work closely with subject-matter experts.
Partner Communication and Product Coordination
- Lead or support partner-facing requirements discussions, technical conversations, roadmap reviews, and launch-planning meetings.
- Prepare and maintain status decks, roadmap trackers, action-item logs, meeting notes, release updates, and other partner communication artifacts.
- Coordinate follow-up across internal teams and ensure commitments are documented and progressing.
- Build effective working relationships with partner product, engineering, operations, support, and commercial stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Business Development during the scouting and evaluation of new partners, including technical discovery and integration-feasibility discussions.
Escalation and Portfolio Support
- Triage partner escalations, field issues, feature requests, and delivery concerns.
- Route issues to the appropriate product, engineering, support, operations, or leadership team.
- Escalate material risks, unresolved issues, and strategic decisions appropriately.
- Maintain clear product documentation and visibility so that partner coverage does not depend on a single individual.
- Support multiple concurrent product workstreams across partners and help ensure consistent execution, response times, and follow-through.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of partner processes, product documentation, reporting, and operating cadence.
Required Qualifications
- Approximately five years of experience in product management, technical partnerships, solutions architecture, or a related field.
- Product management experience in SaaS, cloud services, APIs, connected devices, or a related technology environment.
- The strongest candidates will have a software product management background. Experience in hardware product management or hardware launches is valuable but is not the primary focus of the role.
- Experience gathering business or customer requirements and translating them into product requirements, priorities, and deliverables.
- Experience supporting enterprise, service-provider, telecommunications, security, IoT, or other B2B2C customers is preferred.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional product releases, integrations, certifications, or launches.
- Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with engineering, QA, operations, product, account teams, and external partners.
- Familiarity with APIs, cloud integrations, platform architecture, technical requirements, and software release processes.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams, timelines, action items, and stakeholders with a high degree of organization and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and escalate appropriately rather than independently make decisions on partner strategy or product direction.
- Strong written communication skills and experience creating clear status updates, documentation, presentations, and product trackers.
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering is preferred. Candidates with a degree in business or a related field may also be considered based on equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building or managing a partner portal, developer portal, API portal, developer experience platform, or related self-service integration capability.
- Experience with API documentation, developer onboarding, SDKs, sample applications, testing tools, partner certification workflows, or partner enablement.
- Experience leading technical discussions with external partners.
- Experience with REST APIs, webhooks, OAuth, API gateways, device-management platforms, or event-driven integrations.
- Experience supporting hardware NPI, device certification, manufacturing, product launches, or go-to-market readiness is a bonus.
- Experience with hardware customization, SKU management, packaging development, supply-chain processes, pricing coordination, or manufacturing is a bonus.
- Candidates without direct hardware experience should be comfortable learning the domain and partnering closely with hardware, operations, and manufacturing subject-matter experts.
- Experience in smart home, home security, consumer electronics, IoT, telecommunications, broadband, managed Wi-Fi, or service-provider partnerships.
- Experience supporting partner discovery, technical due diligence, business development, or joint roadmap planning.
- Familiarity with privacy, cybersecurity, regulatory, compliance, localization, or certification requirements for connected products.
Success in This Role
- Translate account-team and partner business needs into clear, actionable product requirements.
- Keep partner requirements, roadmaps, releases, certifications, and launch activities organized and progressing.
- Provide reliable day-to-day product support and communication across the partner portfolio.
- Improve the partner and developer experience through effective portals, documentation, onboarding, and enablement.
- Coordinate SaaS and hardware-related product workstreams across internal teams and external partners.
- Identify, document, and escalate risks before they affect partner commitments.
- Improve response times and reduce dependence on a single point of contact.
- Build trusted working relationships with strategic partners.
- Establish repeatable product processes that improve partner visibility, execution, and continuity.
