About the team and position
Carvana's in-house creative agency is looking for a rockstar Social Producer who lives and breathes platform-native content. You'll manage the social production process end-to-end: ideation support, scheduling, vendor negotiation, on-set supervision, and fast-turn post, ensuring every deliverable hits Carvana's creative bar and performs on platform.
This role is built around speed, platform fluency, and volume. This role scales from being the Producer to hands-on editing and physical production chops, someone who can hop behind a camera or into an edit bay when a shoot needs an extra set of hands.
You'll partner closely with Creative, Brand, and Project Management teams to translate campaign concepts and cultural moments into content that actually performs.
This is a fully on-site position, Monday through Friday, at our corporate HQ in Playa Vista, California.
What you’ll be doing
- Produce high-volume, fast-turn content for organic and paid/performance social across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook.
- Manage in-house and freelance shoots, including talent, influencer/creator collaborations, and UGC-style content optimized for platform-native storytelling.
- Live inside platform trends, formats, and algorithm shifts, and proactively bring new content ideas and production approaches to the team, not just react to briefs.
- Adapt and reversion campaign assets into cutdowns across formats and specs without losing creative intent.
- Build fast, flexible production plans that can flex from same-day turnarounds to week-long sprints.
- Manage creator and influencer relationships, contracts, and usage rights.
- Cut rough edits and cutdowns for social content directly, including captions, basic color, and sound sweetening, when a dedicated editor isn't the best use of turnaround time.
- Operate camera, lighting, and audio gear for quick-turn social shoots, self-shooting when a full crew isn't warranted.
- Support on-set production needs (gear, setups, small-crew logistics) so shoots stay fast and lean.
- Troubleshoot in the field and adapt on the fly when a concept needs to flex mid-shoot
- Manage multiple productions simultaneously, prioritizing a mix of always-on social content and occasional longer-lead campaigns.
- Own vendor and creator relationships, negotiating favorable rates while maintaining quality and brand consistency.
- Track and reconcile production budgets, providing regular status updates to leadership.
- Ensure all content meets legal, compliance, accessibility, and brand guidelines prior to release.
- Keep organized, audit-ready wrap folders for every production: contracts, releases, budgets, deliverables, and source files.
- Mentor junior producers/production coordinators on social-first production practices.
What you should have/know
- 5 years of experience as a Producer at an agency, in-house brand studio, or production company, with a reel that's heavy on social and platform-native content.
- Proven track record producing organic and paid social content at volume, including creator/influencer collaborations and rapid-turn creative.
- Hands-on editing skills (Premiere Pro, CapCut, or similar) and comfort turning around a rough cut yourself when speed matters more than polish.
- Working comfort behind a camera, with lighting, and with basic audio setups for lean, fast social shoots.
- Working knowledge of production budgeting, bidding, and vendor negotiation.
- Sharp instincts for what performs on platform, balanced with an eye for brand consistency.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple concurrent productions under tight, often same-week deadlines.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
It would be great if you also have
- Experience producing for a high-growth consumer or e-commerce brand.
- Familiarity with automotive, retail, or other regulated-industry compliance requirements.
- Background shooting and editing UGC-style or creator content specifically.
- Experience building or refining social production processes/workflows for a growing in-house team.
