Job Description

The Principal Information Security Technical Communications Consultant is a strategic communications partner within Information Security Services (ISS). This highly visible role translates complex technical information into clear, executive-ready communications for senior leaders, board and committee audiences, regulators, employees, and external industry partners. The consultant becomes a trusted partner to assigned leaders and helps communicate the value, priorities, and impact of ISS.

What You’ll Do

• Develop monthly and quarterly reports, board and committee materials, executive talking points, presentations, newsletters, and ad hoc communications

• Translate complex information security topics into clear, relevant messages for nontechnical audiences

• Partner with assigned CISO leaders and build a deep understanding of their organizations, priorities, and technical work

• Participate in leadership discussions, ask clarifying questions, and provide constructive challenge when content is unclear

• Anticipate communication needs and proactively recommend solutions, messaging, and materials

• Manage multiple recurring and ad hoc deliverables, deadlines, stakeholders, decisions, and action items

• Support external cybersecurity industry engagements and related meeting or event materials as needed

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience

• 10 or more years of business experience with five or more years of technical communications

• Five or more years of experience with support to information delivery solutions, knowledge management, systems, and communication strategies  

Preferred Skills/Experience

• Experience developing executive communications, board presentations, talking points, and recurring reporting for senior leaders

• Advanced technical writing, editing, analysis, and storytelling skills, including translating complex information for nontechnical audiences

• Ability to create polished, executive-ready PowerPoint presentations and prepare materials to be presented by others

• Strong consultative judgment, relationship-building skills, and confidence working with senior executives and technical subject-matter experts

• Proactive, self-directed approach with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Teams; working knowledge of SharePoint

• Familiarity with information security, cybersecurity, financial services, or regulated environments is helpful but not required

Location expectations 
This role requires working from one of the U.S. Bank locations listed on this posting three (3) or more days per week.
