Leidos Engineering is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Strategic Program Consulting team within our Power Delivery Solutions division. In this role, you will work amongst cross-functional personnel to provide Project Management Services supporting a key electric utility client. This role requires previous experience working with power delivery projects in the electric utility industry.


The PM will serve as a central point of coordination across the organizations involved in moving projects through siting and land acquisition and will work under the direction of a Senior Project Manager / Execution Project Manager.

The initial portfolio includes six transmission projects—two in South Carolina and four in North Carolina.


This role will be largely remote, however, periodic travel to client sites throughout the Carolinas will be required. Therefore, candidates should be located in North or South Carolina in order to best execute the position and serve the needs of Leidos' client. The PM will primarily be supporting projects between Anderson, SC and Durham, NC.


Key Responsibilities

The Project Manager will coordinate and support execution of transmission projects through the Site & Acquire phase, including:

  • Serve as a central point of coordination across Real Estate, Survey, Engineering, Siting, Environmental, Permitting, Public Engagement, Legal, Project Controls, Finance, and other project stakeholders.
  • Coordinate land acquisition activities associated with substation sites, easements, and transmission line rights-of-way.
  • Track acquisition milestones and parcel-level activities, including surveys, title work, environmental considerations, permitting dependencies, property documentation, negotiations, and closing milestones.
  • Facilitate project meetings, status reviews, issue resolution, stakeholder communication, and project reporting.
  • Support and maintain project schedules and milestones in coordination with Project Controls, including Primavera P6 schedule updates.
  • Monitor project scope, schedule, budget, risks, issues, and acquisition progress to support required in-service dates.
  • Coordinate environmental, permitting, compliance, and project governance requirements.
  • Support funding requests, forecasting, risk assessments, change management, and project reporting.
  • Maintain project documentation and ensure required Site & Acquire deliverables are completed before turnover to downstream project execution and construction teams.
  • Conduct occasional site visits and document relevant project/site information.

Background Requirements/Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 8 years of Demonstrated project management experience within the electric utility industry.
  • Completed Bachelor's degree is preferred, but relevant experience can be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Demonstrated Experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, risks, milestones, and reporting
  • Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary project teams and multiple internal/external stakeholders.
  • Recent experience supporting or managing electric transmission capital projects preferred
  • Familiarity with transmission siting, land acquisition, easements, ROW, permitting, environmental, or related project-development activities strongly preferred
  • Ability to operate with limited oversight while working under the direction of a utility Senior Project Manager.
  • Strong organizational, communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
  • Primavera P6 familiarity is preferred.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $92,300.00 - $166,850.00
