Job description:
Job Summary: The Engineer – Planning & Reliability carries out maintenance planning activities for the mining operations in line with best practice, including development of maintenance plans, reporting on compliance with planned maintenance activities and developing strategies to improve reliability. The role holder will work closely with other members of the Maintenance team, Operations teams and contractors to ensure safe, efficient and cost effective maintenance services are delivered.
Section 2 - Job Responsibilities
• Work with key stakeholders to develop, update and maintain CBM systems and processes for both open pit and underground mines
• Compile, review and analyse maintenance management data to identify trends and areas for improvement
• Develop strategies and initiatives aimed at improving equipment availability and reducing unplanned maintenance costs
• Support implementation of new technologies designed to reduce costs and improve efficiency
• Identify emerging issues and provide input into business cases for investment decisions relating to maintenance
• Maintain strong links with other departments within the Company to ensure that equipment performance requirements are integrated with overall mine planning and scheduling activities
• Manage and oversee the preparation of all required maintenance reports and analyses
• Lead continuous improvement efforts across the site in relation to maintenance practices
• Plan and coordinate audits and reviews of maintenance systems and processes
Section 3 - Job Qualifications
• Degree or Diploma in Engineering or similar technical qualification; Mechanical Engineering preferred but not essential
• At least three years’ experience in a relevant maintenance position in a large organisation preferably in the mining industry
• Proven ability to develop and implement effective maintenance systems and procedures
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to gather, collate and analyse data
• Experience with CMMS software packages such as SAP PM or Maximo would be an advantage
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to plan and prioritise workloads
• Self-motivated and disciplined approach to work
• High level of computer literacy
