About this Perioperative Technician-Gastroenterology role at Nationwide Children's Hospital
Overview:
40 hours per week. Monday-Friday, via 5 8-hour shifts, with hours varying between 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Must have flexibility to work additional hours to cover late OR cases as necessary/as scheduled.
No weekends, holidays or call.
Non-exempt, Benefits Eligible.
Pay starts at $20.40 + based on experience

Job Description:
- Prepares operating rooms for surgery by cleaning and sterilizing equipment and surfaces.
- Assists surgical team with use of instruments and supplies.
- Maintains inventory of surgical supplies and equipment.
- Assists clinical staff with transferring and positioning patients as needed.
Education Requirement:
High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
Licensure Requirement:

Certifications:
BLS Certification, preferred.
Skills:
- Basic understanding of mechanical equipment.
- Self-starter who requires little or no supervision.
- Ability torespond appropriately tolife threatening situations.
- Effective multitasking, interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills
- Ability to workunder pressure in a stressful environment.
- Working knowledge of supply chain ormaterials management.
- Working knowledge of surgical and anesthesia procedures.
Experience:
Previous health care experience, preferred.
