About this People Administrator role at ikeja

ikeja · Onsite · Midrand, Gauteng, South Africa

We are looking for a People Administrator to join our team and support the day-to-day operations of our People (HR) department.

The purpose of this role is to support the effective day-to-day running of the People function by ensuring that all employee administration, coordination and processes are executed accurately, timeously and with a high level of care and discretion.

As a People Administrator, you will play a key role in supporting the employee lifecycle and enabling the broader team to operate efficiently. This role is best suited to someone who is detail-oriented, organised and eager to build a long-term career in People/HR within a fast-paced, operational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing general HR administrative support to the People team across the employee lifecycle.
  • Coordinating and administering employee onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Maintaining accurate employee records, HR systems and relevant trackers.
  • Supporting payroll administration, employee changes and benefits-related processes.

While this is not a traditional receptionist role and the primary focus remains HR administration, you will also be the face of the company for those entering our premises.
  • You will be responsible for welcoming visitors, assisting arriving candidates and directing guests appropriately. Visitor traffic is generally low, allowing you to focus on your HR responsibilities. A private room is available nearby for confidential employee discussions when required.
  • This aspect of the role suits someone who takes pride in representing both the People function and the broader company and who approaches every interaction with professionalism, warmth and discretion.

  • A professional and composed demeanour, with a strong sense of neutrality and confidentiality.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, tech and operational environment.
  • Strong work ethics, flexible and prepared to go the extra mile.
