The Pricing Assistant Manager is required to do the day to day works in terms of product management by supporting delivery of the Company’s growth strategies through innovative product development, assumption setting, modelling, profit testing, ensuring integrity of the pricing model, meet pricing standards, and ensuring financial integrity within the distribution channel compensation. They are required to guide the junior team members and support Supervisor to deliver end to end product pricing inclusive implementation

Key Responsibilities:

This role is pivotal in supporting the effective development and pricing of products within the company’s takaful framework. Key deliverables include:

  • Guiding junior team members, transitioning into leadership responsibilities, maintaining comprehensive pricing models, and supporting cross-functional committees to achieve timely and compliant product launches:
  • Contribute to the development and pricing of innovative products by ensuring robust risk management controls, and by pricing products that are both profitable and competitive, while maintaining strict adherence to pricing requirements established by Prudential Group and Bank Negara Malaysia.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of comprehensive pricing models and processes that are consistent with the company’s takaful framework, Shariah principles, and financial targets.
  • Transition from an execution-focused role to reviewer and leadership responsibilities, demonstrating the ability to independently complete straightforward projects or tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Provide actuarial expertise and support to the Product Implementation Committee to facilitate timely and effective product launches.
  • Support the development of optimal re-takaful arrangements that enhance risk management while ensuring cost efficiency.
  • The incumbent is expected to consistently demonstrate and uphold the organization’s integrity and core values by adhering to the company’s code of conduct, established policies, and ethical best practices.
  • Maintaining exemplary professionalism and integrity at all times is essential, with strict compliance to actuarial standards of practice and all applicable codes of professional conduct.

Key Requirements:

  • Min 2 years of relevant working experience (Ideally pricing, however valuation also can be considered)
  • Degree in Mathematics/Statistics/Actuarial Science or other related course.
  • Good progress in the Actuarial professional examinations (IOA/IOAA/SOA).
  • Competent in actuarial software (ideally Prophet) and Microsoft Office application (Excel, VBA, Word, Power Point) and any other programming language
  • Good communication skill
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work under pressure and deliver within tight deadlines.
  • Driven by high desire to acquire knowledge and to deliver results
