About this Payment and Settlements Analyst role at LMAX Group
LMAX Group is seeking a highly analytical and detail-orientated Payments and Settlement Analyst to join our payments team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial analysis, experience with payment processing systems, and a deep understanding of settlement procedures.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Raising payments across multiple entities using a TMS system and online banking portals, whilst ensuring all payments are accurately raised and released in a timely manner.
- Monitor and reconcile daily payment transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in payments, settlements, resolve any queries, i.e. Recalls, Tracers and Rejections both internally and externally.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to facilitate smooth payment process.
- Analyse payment data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Building and maintaining macro and other excel spreadsheets for reconciliations.
- Act as the key contact for payments and develop good working relationships with internal and stakeholders.
- Stay up to date with industry regulations and best practices related to payments and settlements.
- To ensure that LMAX’s principles and controls for risk management, TCF and CASS are adhered to and highlight any potential/risks of breaches.
- Working with Broker Operations teams to ensure all client related queries are dealt thoroughly and providing cover as required.
- Maintaining through regular updates a sound understanding of the risks and controls associ-ated with their role and subsequently utilising this knowledge to follow and enforce all agreed procedures to ensure risks are minimised across the payment processes and within the team.
- Work covering Monday to Friday with occasion weekend on-call and UK bank holiday work.
- Assist with ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field
- Proven experience in payments, settlements, or financial analysis role
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other software applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to details and accuracy in all work activities.
- Knowledge of payment processing system
