Looking for a role where the little things you do can make a big difference to someone’s day?

We’re looking for a Patient Services Officer (Medical Receptionist) to join our oncology clinic in Albany, in Western Australia’s beautiful Great Southern region.

As one of the first people our patients meet, you’ll play an important part in making them feel welcomed, supported and cared for throughout their time with us.

This is a casual opportunity, with various shifts available as required, offering flexibility and the chance to make a meaningful difference to patients and their families.

More specifically, you will:

• Be a welcoming first point of contact for patients and carers, providing friendly and professional service in person and over the phone.
• Manage patient bookings, appointment confirmations and clinic schedules.
• Complete accurate billing and receipting at the time of appointment.
• Process referrals, correspondence and patient documentation accurately and confidentially.
• Maintain patient records and complete accurate data entry.
• Support the smooth day to day running of the clinic.
• Respond to changing priorities while maintaining a high level of patient service.
• Work closely with clinicians and the broader team to support an efficient and coordinated patient experience.

We’re interested in hearing from people who have:

• Previous experience in medical reception, healthcare administration or a similar customer focused administrative role.
• Excellent communication skills and a warm, professional approach to supporting patients and their families.Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Confidence managing patient enquiries both face to face and over the phone.
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• A flexible and adaptable approach to working in a busy clinical environment.
• Knowledge of patient billing systems and Medicare requirements would be highly regarded.
