Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities

• Review all patient accounts to ensure timely and compliant billing of Institutional (UB-04) and Physician (HCFA 1500) claims per government and third-party payor guidelines
• Edit and process claims efficiently, identify errors and rejects, resolve billing problems to generate clean claims
• Develop and utilize reports to perform billing reconciliation, as well as track trends and other potential implications 
• Review and recommend changes to a department's charge capture documents to facilitate accurate and comprehensive billing in compliance with annual CPT-4 and ICD-9 updates
• Continuously research and monitor topics that involve governmental and third-party payer billing regulations and guidelines
• Assist with training and development of billing methods and procedures

Required Skills/Abilities

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum 2 years of insurance billing experience in the healthcare field with a clear understanding of CPT-4 and ICD-9 codes
