About the role 

The Pastry Intern supports the pastry team in the preparation and presentation of high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods while gaining hands-on experience in a professional luxury kitchen. This internship is designed for students passionate about pastry arts who are eager to develop their technical skills, creativity, and understanding of kitchen operations. Working closely with the Pastry Chef and the team, the intern will learn Four Seasons’ standards while contributing to daily preparation and service. 

What you will do 

• Assist in the preparation and presentation of pastries, desserts, and baked goods under the guidance of the pastry team. 

• Support the Pastry Chef and team with daily preparation, production, and service. 

• Follow recipes, preparation methods, and presentation standards to ensure consistency and quality. 

• Rotate through different pastry sections to gain a comprehensive understanding of pastry operations. 

• Learn and apply different pastry techniques while developing technical skills. 

• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper storage within the pastry kitchen. 

• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times. 

• Assist with the preparation and organization of mise en place for daily operations. 

• Contribute with creativity, curiosity, and new ideas to the pastry offering. 

• Support the team during service and collaborate with other kitchen colleagues when required. 

• Uphold Four Seasons’ standards of excellence, professionalism, and teamwork. 

What you bring 

• Passion for Pastry: Genuine interest in pastry and baking, with enthusiasm for learning and developing new skills.  

• Attention to Detail: Ability to work carefully and maintain high standards in the preparation and presentation of pastry products.  

• Willingness to Learn: Positive attitude and eagerness to learn from experienced pastry professionals and receive feedback.  

• Organization Skills: Ability to maintain an organized workstation and efficiently support daily mise en place.  

• Food Safety and Hygiene Awareness: Understanding of the importance of cleanliness, hygiene, and safe food handling practices.  

• Team Player Attitude: Ability to collaborate effectively with the Pastry and Culinary teams in a fast-paced kitchen environment.  

• Adaptability and Flexibility: Willingness to support different tasks and adapt to operational and service needs.  

• Legal right to work in Spain.  

 

Degree: Currently studying Pastry Arts, Culinary Arts, Gastronomy, or a related field. 

Languages: Fluency in spoken English or Spanish.

Schedule & Hours: Seasonal contract, full Time, 40 hours per week, with consecutive and rotating shifts (including early mornings, days, evenings and weekends).
