Overhead Crane Operator & Steel Material Handler – 2nd Shift
Location: Cocoa Beach, FL
Job Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire
Shift: 2nd Shift
Starting Pay: $22.00/hour, plus $3.00/hour shift differential. Higher base pay may be available depending on experience.
Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable Material Handler to support steel fabrication and yard operations. This hands-on role involves moving structural steel, operating cranes and material-handling equipment, and assisting with various shop and shipping tasks.
Responsibilities

Operate overhead cranes to lift and move structural steel safely.

Use forklifts and Pettibone/telehandler equipment to transport materials.

Move, organize, and stage steel throughout the shop and yard.

Jockey trailers, unload deliveries, and prepare materials for shipment.

Assist with skidding, parts cleaning, and machine operation as needed.

Help track inventory and maintain organized work areas.

Follow equipment operating procedures and workplace safety requirements.

Support other departments as needed to keep operations running smoothly.
Qualifications

Experience operating overhead cranes is required.

Experience with Pettibone or telehandler equipment is required.

Familiarity with forklifts and other industrial equipment.

Some experience handling structural steel.

Material handling, warehouse, manufacturing, or industrial experience preferred.

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Ability to handle heavy materials and manage multiple tasks.

Strong attention to detail, reliability, and willingness to learn.

Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team.
